J. R. Essex is a writer of Sci-Fi & Fantasy fiction, currently seeking publication of their latest novel. Raised in England and educated, to all intents and purposes, at Hogwarts, they draw inspiration from the deep common history of Britain and America.

Now, to break all the rules and drop into the first person: I am British-born but currently residing in South Carolina. I spent a regrettably large part of my working life in tech. Atonement comes now through writing, acting and the occasional all-night vigil in the lambing barn. I can usually be found dealing with what in England we would call "gardening" but in South Carolina is hand-to-hand combat with the plants and critters that wish us dead. Despite not growing up with pets, I somehow have three rescue dogs and four cats. Only one of the dogs understands me.
